All Relationships Bring Things Into Them

It’s always the case that all relationships bring things into them, as a matter of fact. What’s important is that the things that do show up be positive and helpful and not negative and unhelpful, for the sake of the relationship. Most marriage professionals would say that it’s far more important to come to an agreement about just what stuff ends up in a relationship than it is to just bring stuff to it.

For men in a relationship, it’s especially important to remember that one should never make huge financial decisions on one’s own, or they will risk the wrath of a seriously angry wife or significant other. So if there are any men out there thinking about dropping a fat wad of cash on a brand-new powerboat without discussing it first, they should quickly drop that idea or risk certain injury.

Or maybe the man was once a pretty good musician and plays a mean guitar from the southpaw (left) side of the plate. He might want that brand-new $4000 left handed electric guitar but if he’s not working hand-in-hand with his significant other in the relationship to figure out just when the right time is to buy it he’s going to really get himself hurt, and hopefully not in more than a physical sense.

This is why relationships seem to work best when two people can discuss all of the things that they’d like to accumulate. Another good example is deciding on interior decor and appointments. For the kitchen, it may be that the old oven is still extremely serviceable but a new GE oven is extremely desirable. However, figuring out the difference between wants and needs will be more important than ever before buying one.

And when babies start entering into the relationship, there are more ways to get things wrong and there are ways to get things right. Men; never make the mistake of buying anything of significance that has to do with the baby without first consulting with the significant other in the relationship. Maybe you saw a new Graco stroller and wanted to pick it up, but what if your wife doesn’t like that brand?

There seems to be one hard and fast reality or truth when it comes to relationships and that’s that each and every one of them are going to require a fair amount of sweat and toil if they are to succeed. It’s also fact that even realizing the need for hard working relationship requires a bit of hard work on its own. We all have much to learn when it comes to relationships and the accumulation of things, it would seem.

While it’s certainly a fact that all relationships bring things into them, it’s important that at least the most important things that are gathered to the relationship be intangible and not purely physical like merchandise or expensive stuff. So keep that in mind when you think you’re ready to enter into a serious relationship with someone.
